Life: Filling my Cup
We cultivate love when we allow our most vulnerable and powerful selves to be seen and known, and when we honor the spiritual connection that grows from that offering with trust, respect, kindness and affection. - Brene Brown
I started life coaching about 5 weeks ago. I was in a place of needing to find peace and balance. After seeing Lindsay E. Preston come up in my Instagram feed, I wanted to see what life coaching is all about. I thought I would listen to her podcast to see what she was about. To my surprise, I had already added her to my library. I listened to Become an Unstoppable Woman podcast. There was an immediate connection with her. I could feel what she has gone through. I reached out and had a conversation. At the moment, I knew I needed something or someone to guide me. I felt lost about the world. The pandemic, my kids not having their regular school and activities and the pressure from work. The conversation went well. She asked me where do you think you’ll be if you don’t do coaching? Will you be able to make progress on your own? I knew the answer was no.
I can honestly tell you that the place I am in now versus 5 weeks ago is incredible. Lindsay has shown me through her coaching what I truly need and want in my life. One of the big things that she has made me see is my need for connection. Connection with family. Connection with friends. Most importantly connection with myself. I had lost that connection and maybe never had it of what I truly want in my life. I’ve lived my life for others for years. Now, I am starting to live my life for me. It will take time. It is a process.
I hosted two dear friends at my home last night. Neither had met each other, but I had talked about each to one another. The conversation flowed! The honesty about ourselves and things we have been through was incredible. We allowed ourselves to be truly seen by one another. Each lady embraced the other’s stories. The energy was amazing!! The laughter, the empathy, the connections filled my cup. Really finding what energizes you is remarkable. Knowing now that I need those moments of being vulnerable with another person that is a safe place for me is what is needed. It’s not optional.
If anyone is struggling with their inner mean girl or just needs to level up, I highly recommend looking into life coaching. It will change your life. Change in the best way possible. The program I’m currently on is a 90 day program. I am so excited to see what life will be at the end of those 90 days. So far my cup is full. I have a feeling it will be overflowing!
