The lovely Kristin over at Covetable Designs wrote a post yesterday about designer Betsy Burnham. She is the principal designer for her firm, Burnham Design. I had not realized that I had seen something about her until I began researching for this post. I had first been exposed to her beautiful work from a Decor Demon post. The post is about her home which is wonderful. I would love to have grown up in such a stylish home. Often you will see the Union Jack in her design. It could be subtlety included by a pillow or a much more prominent painted chest. Betsy’s work is incredible. She really gives a sense of the homeowner’s personality in their space. Also, she has not been boxed into a particular design style.

This bedroom is lovely. I love the way the stripes run up the wall onto the ceiling. It has such a crisp and clean appearance, but also cozy. Wouldn’t you just want to curl up on the chaise with a good book?
The way Betsy mixes pattern is genius. The colors of the rug give so many directions for the rest of the room. The subtle strip in the drapes is masculine without being overpowering.
This picture had me at the color. I love a colorful space. The mix of pattern and textures is wonderful.
Betsy has designed her own house beautifully. Above is Carson’s, her daughter, study area in her room. Oh, the homework I could do here.
Her signature Union Jack is front and center in Carson’s room.
This is Will’s, her son, bathroom. The roman shade is masculine in the all white bathroom.
If you have an opportunity to read the posts from Covetable Designs and Decor Demon, it’s worth the time.

Love that blue striped bedroom!!
I love her work. Stripes may be making their way into my home soon.
